Future Students
Academy At ICC
Applying
Students must be 14 to 20 years old and have attended high school to enter the Alternative High School. Students who are admitted must demonstrate a sincere commitment to attending school and be able to meet the requirements for a high school diploma. In addition, parents must demonstrate the ability to provide reliable transportation to get the student to and from school and provide support at home.
How to Apply to the Academy at ICC
- The first step is for the student talk with a high school counselor and ask about attending the Academy at ICC. At this time, the student can ask the high school counselor for an application to the Academy at ICC. Each high school guidance office in the ICC college district has a supply of applications on file.
- The student fills out the first few pages of application, and the high school counselor fills out the final pages, including the graduation plan for that individual student.
- The counselor then sends the application with a copy of the student's high school transcripts, a letter of recommendation, and a copy of the student's health record to the Academy at ICC.
- Once the completed application is received, the Academy sends a letter to the student about an upcoming Orientation Meeting. The student and parent must attend this meeting.
- Next, the student must visit the Academy for Basic Skills Testing.
- The last step in the admission process is for the student and the parent to come to the Academy for an interview.
- After the interview, the student's application materials are reviewed for admission. The student will be sent a letter of acceptance or denial.
