Project Selection Process
All members of the college community are encouraged to identify potential Six Sigma projects. Ideas should be submitted in the form of a charter. A Six Sigma Charter form, a sample Six Sigma Charter and directions for completing a Six Sigma Charter can be found on the Faculty & Staff page of the College's website on the Six Sigma tab.
The cabinet will review and prioritize potential projects in order to maintain a pool of projects for the Black Belts. This will also give departments time to establish data collection procedures if they do not already exist within the department.
Projects will be judged based on the following criteria:
- Whether the project will make a substantive contribution in support of the strategic plan, the Blueprint for the Future
- Whether the improvement will result in significant savings to the college in actual dollars or employee time
- Whether the improvement will substantially increase the quality of service to students or employees
Project ideas supported with data may be advanced more quickly.
Meetings to prioritize projects will be held in July, October, January, and April.
