ICC Culinary Institute and International Education Program will join with Peoria Area World Affairs Council (PAWAC) to celebrate African cuisine during a “Taste of North Africa” event:
The event features a three-course meal prepared by ICC Culinary Program employees and students, led by Chef Charles Robertson. Participants will learn about the cooking techniques for the cuisine, take a tour of the state-of-the-art facility, and learn about international programs at ICC. The menu for the evening includes Shurbet el-Ads (Red Lentil Soup), Lamb with Apricots or Maharagwe (Red Bean Stew) and Morogo (Amaranth Greens), followed by Basboosa (Semolina Cake), Pistachio and Rosewater Ice Cream, and Compressed Watermelon.
Tickets cost $40 for PAWAC members and $45 for nonmembers. All proceeds benefit ICC Culinary Institute, International Education Programs, and the nonprofit, PAWAC. Seating is limited.
