ICC Employees Celebrate Collaborative Efforts of ICAPS Program in Recent Presentation
Recently, several ICC employees teamed up with the Greater Peoria Economic Development Council’s Pathways to Prosperity Coordinator, Brent Baker, for a presentation on the ICAPS program at the Forum for Excellence Conference in Normal, Ill. The group from ICC consisted of Lari LaBello, nursing assistant program director; Kerri McGrath, adult education instructor; and Lisa White, coordinator of special academic services.
The ICAPS program is a partnership between ICC and the 3E (Empower, Educate, Employ) initiative to empower and prepare Taft and Harrison Homes residents for the transition into CNA and HSE classes at ICC.
The program involves the collaboration of HSE and CNA instructors working alongside 3E program coordinators to remove barriers, build relationships and provide a sense of community to provide support and encouragement to students pursuing a CNA certification.
