“Getting to Yes” for Everyday Conflict: Using Principles of Interest-Based Bargaining Every Day

Susan Reising, professional development coach and trainer, will facilitate a “Getting to Yes” for Everyday Conflict: Using Principles of Interest-Based Bargaining Every Day” workshop. This workshop is based on the IBB process used by ICC during contract negotiations but emphasizes how it also may be used to resolve everyday conflict in the workplace. This workshop is open to all faculty, staff and management, full- and part-time.

“Getting to Yes” for Everyday Conflict: Using Principles of Interest-Based Bargaining Every Day – Conflict naturally occurs in the workplace and, when addressed in positive ways, can be a healthy tool for growth. However, without resolution, that conflict can grow, creating discord among employees. This workshop provides an opportunity for participants to experience a conflict-resolution process based on IBB. Through a series of discussions and activities, participants will learn to separate the people from the problem, focus on interests not positions, invent options for mutual gain, use objective criteria and respond effectively—even in tough situations.
