Chef Amanda Pyle (BHIS), adjunct instructor and owner of The Cookery in Morton, was awarded the 2016 Chef of the Year Award by the Heart of Illinois Professional Chefs Association. The Association held their annual Hospitality Industry Awards on Feb. 6 at the Peoria Civic Center.
ICC alum and December 2016 Culinary Arts graduate, Jessica Deppermann, also was awarded the 2016 Student Chef of the Year medal.
All four nominees for the awards (Chef Golda Ewalt, Chef Ananda Pyle, Jessica Deppermann, and Lena Haig) are all ICC Culinary Alumni or current culinary students.
