The purpose of the panel discussion is to understand where the boundary lines are between hate speech and free speech. Secondary issues include: what recourse faculty have if students cross the line on hate speech, how to intercept hate speech in the classroom before it becomes an issue, and the process in place at ICC if events get out of control in the classroom.
Panelists for the discussion include:
Dr. Rita Ali – Vice-President of Diversity and Community Impact
Emily Points – Dean of Students, Advisement and Counseling Services
Scott Paulsen – Business Law Professor
Dr. Anthony White – Criminal Justice Professor
