ICC Women’s Basketball Impacting Our Community

The ICC women’s basketball volunteered in the community recently; on January 11th they spent the morning helping clean and tidy-up the Center for Prevention and Abuse in Peoria. The players were split into groups and cleaned two kitchens and pantry areas, two children’s play rooms, sorted clothing, and tidied up an outside play area. On January 21st, they volunteered at the Special Olympics basketball skills’ competition at ICC, assisting with counting baskets, passes, timing dribbling competitions, and announcing award winners. The volunteering activities have helped the ladies develop teamwork, get outside their comfort zones, and meet new people; each experience has been a unique and enjoyable one for the team.
