ICC Softball Finishes Fourth in the Nation!

The ICC Softball Team won the Region 24 tournament to secure their #9 spot in the 2017 NJCAA National Tournament in Clinton, MS the week of May 17-20. Here is a recap of the Cougars as they played their hardest and ultimately earned the rank of fourth in the nation!

GAME 2:  ICC Softball was defeated by#8 Johnson County in Round 1 — the Cougars advanced to Game 9 in the double elimination consolation bracket.

GAME 9:    ICC Softball defeated #16 Pitt on Thursday, May 18 at 1:30 pm with a score of 4-0. They advanced to play Kirkwood at 5:30 pm on the same day.

GAME 20:  ICC defeated #2 Kirkwood 6-0 to stay alive in the tournament. They advanced to play #11 Lansing in Game 23 Friday, May 19 at 12 pm.

GAME 23: ICC defeated Lansing 11-3 to advance to game 25 vs. #1 ranked Jones County on May 19, 2 pm.

GAME 25:  The Lady Cougars faced their final tough opponent and their season ultimately came to an end with a defeat of 1-3 vs. #1 ranked Jones County. However, by advancing far into the tournament, ICC secured the spot of FOURTH IN THE NATION! Jones County actually won their next game and played in the Championship game, but was defeated by #4 LSU Eunice to finish in second place.
