Cross Country Competes at Augustana
Both the men’s and women’s Cross Country teams participated in the Augustana Invitational on Friday, September 23. The teams competed with numerous colleges and universities which provided an exciting day. The teams fared well with the women coming in 14th out of a field of 26 and the men, 17th out of 31 participating teams. Individual placements include the women with a group of 239 runners: Alyssa Klunk (Fr) 22nd, Cassandra Fitzgibbons (Fr) 60th, Hannelore Book (So) 73rd, Bethany Spradlin (Fr) 103rd, Dayna Traver (So) 130th, and Lita Davis (So) 162nd place. The men ran in a field of 336 participants: Colin Siedleck (So) 36th, Parker Herz (Fr) 99th, Seth Gunter (Fr) 132nd, Trent Scheuermann (Fr) 138th, Forest Anderson (So) 196th, and Brett Bennett (So) 212th. Congratulations on a job well done in hot and humid conditions.
The next event will be the Illinois Intercollegiate on Friday, September 30 hosted by Olivet Nazarene University. The teams will run on the Aspen Ridge Golf Course in Bourbonnais, Illinois, women’s 5K at 5 pm, and men’s 8K at 5:45 pm.
