Youmna’s Fitness Journey

We sat down with Youmna Cook to ask her about her fitness journey.

How and when did your fitness journey begin?

My fitness journey begin 15 – 20 yrs. ago at the old fitness center.  I worked with an assistant ICC women’s basketball coach, her name was Megan.  She encouraged me to sign up for the fitness center, I did, and I never looked back.

What is your current workout routine?

I usually go in the mornings before work. I do the elliptical machine or the treadmill.  Sometimes I do body flow after work if my schedule allows me.

What keeps you motivated to continue your exercise routine?

My level of energy is high, and I am more conscience of what I eat if I take the time to work out.

Do you have advice for those just getting started?

Don’t do too much to start, and be persistent.

What’s the greatest benefit you get from exercise?

We can’t control too many things about our lives.  Taking care of our health is something we can control…in my opinion that is my greatest benefit.
