Jackson’s Success Story

We sat down with Jackson Crawford to ask him about his fitness journey.

How and when did your fitness journey begin?

I didn’t really start working out seriously until about three years ago. I trained and ran a half marathon. I fell in love with the “Buzz” working out gives you. I notice when I miss a day.

What is your current workout routine?

Not as much as I would like, but I try to at least get to the evening classes.

What keeps you motivated to continue your exercise routine?

The classes, I really enjoy Turbo Kick and Body Pump. I love the instructors and everyone there. Shout out to Joe Chianakas for encouraging me to try them for the first time.

Do you have advice for those just getting started?

Find a workout partner, or at least have someone who encourages you and you can encourage. When I first began working out at ICC in the morning I met Steve. I know I wouldn’t have completed my goal without his encouragement. Also, try the classes, they will change your life!

What’s the greatest benefit you get from exercise?

Strength, you know that box that you could barely lift a month ago? Now it’s easy! Also not getting winded as easily when walking the dog, or just living life.

I love how much better I feel overall, I don’t know why I dreaded it so much.

What’s your greatest accomplishment since you’ve started working out?

I can do a pull up. It sounds small, but I’ve never been able to do them. I ran 2 full tough mudders. Planning for a third later this year and I ran a half marathon.
