Illinois Central College will mark the completion of recent renovations to its East Peoria Library location with an open house celebration on Tuesday, October 13, from 2 to 4 pm, on the East Peoria Campus. Interim Provost Dr. Margaret Swanson and Library Services Director Cate Kaufman will offer brief welcome comments at 2:15 pm.
Visitors will have the opportunity to peer into the history of the Library with a self-guided tour, including photos which illustrate how the space has evolved over the years since the College opened in 1967. Current and previous library staff will be on-hand to lend their perspectives on how things have changed with regard to student learning and academic support services. Information also will be available on the ICC Library “One Book, One College” program, which encourages the entire college and local community to read the book selection for the year and participate in college-wide discussions and activities.
The open house is free and open to the public. Parking will be available in Visitors Lot V. Light refreshments will be served.
